Missions

India, the subcontinent is one of the developing countries in the world. It is true but at the same time, when we look at the other side, people in the
interior and the remote part of the country still live under poverty. Because of their life situation, they are economically poor, psychologically depressed
and find no way to come up in their life. The people in the remote villages and tribal are very much interested in the Catholic Faith. In this situation the
Missionaries of Faith reach out to these areas and meet the people with the Good news that Jesus came for all. With the request of the bishops we
take up any kind of missions in these remote and tribal areas and work for the betterment of the people, by evangelical, educational and other
developmental programs.

Orphanages

The orphans and destitute look for some one to show concern and love them as everybody else. Ther are many children who do not get a days meal
and they go about aimlessly wandering the streets. These children long for affection of a mother ., father and look desperately for some one who can
help them. To help these little children we the missionaries of faith hve aken up the noble mission of taking care of the orphans and destitute. For their
welfare we have started orphanages at different mission places. Through these orphanages which are at Allipalli in the diocese of Eluru, at Aluru and
Owk in the diocese of Kurnool at Peddakorukondi in the diocese of Khammam, and at Marriveedu in the diocese of Visakhapatnam, more than 800
children are being benefited. Their basic needs in life are met through these orphanages and we educate to imbibe the ctholic values in their life.

Education

The people in rural areas do not have amble opportunities to educate their children at their own places like those who are in the city. They find it too
hard and beyond their ability to send their children to towns for education. To educate these marganized the missionaries of faith have established
Roman Catholic Mission Telugu medium schools at various mission stations. The poor people of the area find it a blessing for them that they can
educate their children. Through these schools at different places like Allipalli, Azzampudi, Meeriveedu, Ramachandrapuram, etc… We give them the
basic and primary education . These schools kindle the light of knowledge in more than thousand children of the poor and weaker section of the
society.

The chances to their education are more if the basic schooling is done in English Medium school. But the poor find it a heavy burden to educate at
English medium schools because of their financial situation . To help these people who are not able to go for higher education the missionaries of
Faith have started an English Medium School at Dharmajigudem in the diocese of Eluru. A humble start with few students in 1996 has become abode
of knowledge for more than 600 students of the local area. As more and more children are seeking admissions in this school.

Health

For the people who live in the slums and in polluted environments, taking care of their own health becomes burdensome. It is due to ignorance and
lack of proper facilities. So the missionaries of faith conducts the awareness programs in the remote and tribal villages and awaken them to the needs
of sanitation and cleanliness . Inview of providing free medical assistance , Allipalli Mary Matha dispensary is started at the foot of Allipalli Hills in the
diocese of Eluru. It has also a special wing for the dental and optical clinic.

Pastoral Ministry and the formation of the future Evangelizers

The missionaries of faith are disposed to take up any kind of missionary activity for the kingdom of God and for His glory and for the good of the
people. The missionaries of faith being true to the name and the charism of the Institute take the word of God to the world and go as missionaries
where still the people have not heard the life giving message of Jesus. The command of the Lord still inspires and enables the missionaries to reach to
all . Every year we open new and difficult missions and this year has witnessed opening of three new missions.
In order to realize these plans of God through this Religious Institute, the future evangelizers are encouraged and formed . Every year after a long
process of formation a group of 8 to 10 seminarians are ordained to the priesthood to carry on the command of the Lord “Go to the whole world and
proclaim the Good news.”

There are various needs in the missions like construction of small houses, chapels in the villages, help for the education of the school going children
and for the aged persons. The Indian mission depends upon the providence of God and the generosity of the people.
